The hosts, Paul and Stephen, created a warm atmosphere, made me feel completely at home, and the antique collection throughout the hotel was a good touch.
The uphill walk from the center of Hastings can be quite strenuous, so it's something to consider if you're not in the mood for a climb.

the hotel is special with very amiable staff and views of garden. the venue has quiet and nice location akin to a museum. the place to have lunch a 10-15 minute walking distance from the venue is the silver river.

Location close enough to a museum or shrine as well as a sea of mediocrity. The breakfasts with generous slices of homemade cake...

A unique experience for antique lovers
The hosts were kind and excited to show off their amazing collection of antiques. The breakfast was served in such a lavish Victorian style that we reminded me of royalty sitting at that grand dining table.
It wasn't exactly inexpensive, but worth it.

We got private double room with lovely beds, a charming decor, as for instance, had memorable experience here. The staff was accommodating and polite, always there to help.
Didn't like the staff, some of them were awful.

A good escape into Victorian charm!
The breakfast spread was excellent, with choices that left us completely satisfied. I did wish we had a shower instead of just a bath, but it added to the authentic Victorian experience. I would totally return for another nice getaway!

The vintage decor is captivating throughout the hotel.
I found the layout quite confusing, as there wasn't a central reception to turn to for assistance. It took me a while to figure out who to approach with my questions. A lack of a shower and just a bath didn't meet my expectations, even though it added a historical touch.

Staying at St Benedict's was a captivating experience! As I walked through the door, the warmth of the Victorian decor enveloped me like a cozy hug. The hosts, Paul and Stephen, greeted me with genuine warmth and charm. My room, Mr Parry's room, was an excellent gentlemen's retreat with a fine four-poster bed. The fresh, crisp cotton linen added to the ambiance. I adored the adjoining dressing room. It seemed like a dream come true. Breakfast was a highlight-served in a lavish Victorian style, with a warm toast warmer making the experience lovely. The rich flavors of scrambled eggs and kippers still linger in my memory. One cozy evening, I relaxed next to the fire in the lounge with homemade cakes, feeling completely at home. The only challenge was a slight lack of clarity on who to approach for any immediate queries, given there isn't a central reception. Regardless, this enchanting stay seemed like stepping back in time, a place I'd happily revisit.

beautiful Victorian house, extensive antique collection, charming garden
A bit overwhelming with the religious iconography throughout the hotel!!! A dedicated bathroom down the hall feels dated, and I found myself wishing for a more modern twist on some furnishings!!!
